Brother Abdul Malik Sayyid Muhammad, formerly known as Tony Muhammad, is a dedicated leader who has spent nearly three decades working toward peace on the streets of Los Angeles. His journey began in his early years, where he witnessed the struggles faced by the Black community and developed a deep sense of responsibility to uplift and empower his people. Appointed as the Nation of Islam's Western Region Representative by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in 1995, Student Minister Abdul Malik has built a ministry founded on love, peace, and a genuine desire to see Black people free.

Brother Abdul Malik's leadership style is heavily influenced by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, whom he regards as his spiritual father, teacher, and guide. His work encompasses various aspects of community building, including conflict resolution among warring gang members, combating hunger through food programs and distribution, promoting peace on the streets, advocating for justice for murdered children and their families, and bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community. He has even played a role in resolving conflicts between East Coast and West Coast rappers, which were impacting the streets. One defining moment in Student Minister Abdul Malik's ministry was his involvement in standing for justice for Devin Brown, a 13-year-old who was killed by a Los Angeles Police Department officer. Through the Community Call to Action and Accountability, co-chaired by Student Minister Abdul Malik and Rev. Lewis Logan, significant changes were made to the LAPD's vehicle firing policy. This achievement, along with his dedication to uniting different communities and advocating for peace, has earned him immense respect and admiration.

Brother Abdul Malik's heart of gold and labor of love are what draw people to him. Community leaders, activists, and educators from all walks of life have praised his leadership and witnessed his unwavering commitment to the community. His ability to bring people together for a common cause is evident in events like the United Hoods plus Gangs Nation peace and unity summit, where he successfully called upon the Bloods and Crips to open a dialogue and unite against violence. Approximately 2,000 individuals, including gang interventionists and concerned residents, responded to his call.

Brother Abdul Malik is widely recognized as a peacemaker and a key figure who supports and advocates for peace and the total liberation of Black people. His dedication to his community and his tireless efforts toward creating a better future have made a significant impact.
